Policies

Below you will find rules, expectations, and routines for our physical education class. Please reach out if you have any questions in regards to our policies. 

Students earn a daily grade in physical education class.  Students earn one point for each of the following standards:

1- Behavior

1- Participation

1-Prepared

1- Leadership

Behavior/Expectations

All students are expected to follow the Morse School rules, along with the rules of the gym.

1. We keep our hands and feet to ourselves

2. We play on our feet

3. We try our very best

4. We follow all the rules

5. When the whistle blows you stop, look, listen

If students are having difficulties following the rules they will follow our behavior steps.

1. Verbal Warning

2. Brief time out in the penalty box with a time to reflect

3. Time out in penalty box for remainder of class, call home and/or building referral

4. Class expulsion

*Depending on the severity of the behavior, steps may be skipped.

Grading

Physical Education Rewards

  • Students Earn P.E. points for DOING THE RIGHT THING in PE. Weekly and Daily totals updated.

  • Points add up for each Color Squad Line

  • Team at the end of the month gets raffle ticket and certificate!!

  • Winners will be selected for a chance at a bonus reward!!!

  • Impossible shot: One Student per class is selected for a chance to take a shot at the impossible shot during physical education class.  Student is selected because they made our class a better place and recieved a grade of at least 3 out of 4 for the day!  If student makes the impossible shot they are given this certificate, their name on the wall and a prize! 

Participation/Preparedness

One of the main components of our class is participation.  It is understood that not all students will enjoy every activity that we do.  Our curriculum includes a wide range of activities for all students to find enjoyment in.

In order to participate SAFLEY in physical education students MUST be prepared with proper footwear during their physical education class.  In order to recieve their daily prepared point, students must wear sneakers during class.

 

The following footwear will be considered unprepared and may be given a stationary activity if deemed unsafe:

-Crocs

-Boots

-Flip Flops

-Sandals

-Flats

-Dress Shoes

-Any shoe with a platform sole or raised heel
